Derrick Rose is a superstar, no question about that. But if I had a vote for NBA’s MVP, the Chicago Bulls’ point guard would be No. 2 on my list. My vote for MVP goes to Orlando’s Dwight Howard. My reasoning simple: Give me a great big man over a great little man.

No position is more important in sports than the quarterback in football. The rules changes have turned football into an offensive game. More specifically, a passing game. Thus, the quarterback rates No. 1. No. 2 on my list of most important positions is the pitcher in baseball. Why not No. 1? Because pitchers only work every fourth or fifth game. Then rates the big man in basketball. I’m talking about the true center: the shot blocker on one end; dominating scorer on the other; and rebounder on both ends.

The Magic’s Howard is the NBA’s only superstar center. Without him, the Magic are a below average team. And that’s why he is the NBA’s most valuable player.
