I admit it. I like to take the unpopular side on many issues. I’m not saying I take a side I don’t believe in, but most debates have two reasonable sides. Call me a contrarian. That’s not only okay, it’s accurate.

I point this out because now that the NBA playoffs are about to begin I find myself with the masses. I find myself becoming part of a mob. I do not want the Miami Heat to win. I don’t want to see LeBron James win a ring. I want to see him humbled. I want to hear what he has to say when he explains why his new team didn’t fulfill the arrogant statements he made last summer. Remember? He said the Heat wouldn’t win one championship; they’d win “two, three, four, five, multiple championships.”

I don’t have anything against Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh – or any other Heat players, for that matter – but they’re guilty in my eyes by association. I can’t explain why I feel this way any more than I can explain why I don’t like blackeyed peas.

I just don’t like them.
