4/28/11 – Jags Draft Predictions

Listen carefully because I’m going to tell you who the Jaguars will draft this week. As usual they will be players you’ve probably never heard of – until now. For those of you who don’t follow the Jags draft year after year, I’m doing this because GM Gene Smith loves to draft players from small schools who don’t appear on most mock draft.

The Jags’ first-round pick is a slam dunk. They need a pass rusher and the best of the small school studs is Muhammad Wilkerson of Temple. Yes, the Jags will finally draft a quarterback. Who better fits Smith’s profile than Pat Devlin of Delaware? Secondary help is a must so naturally Smith is eyeing safety Mark LeGree of Appalachian State and cornerback Davon House of New Mexico State. Idaho’s Aaron Lavarias is a good bet to be drafted to help at outside linebacker. In fact, Lavarias’ college teammate, wide receiver Eric Greenwood, likely will become a Jag.

If the Jags try and upgrade interior of the offensive line, you can expect Smith to call the name of Lehigh guard William Rackley. And, no doubt, Hampton’s Kenrick Ellis is a defensive tackle bound for J-ville.

Now you’ve at least heard of these guys.
