4/27/11 – Seminole Buzz

The buzz is back. Seminoles are excited again.

The Coach Jimbo Fisher spring tour of booster clubs stopped in Jacksonville this week and what happened is typical of what’s happening around the state: enthusiasm, big turnouts and plenty of energy. That’s what a 10-4 season that included victories against Florida and South Carolina will do for a program. It also helps that the dissension within Seminole Nation over Coach Bobby Bowden’s departure has all but disappeared.

The golf tournament for the Jimbo tour was sold out. The banquet for Fisher’s talk was packed. The departure of quarterback Christian Ponder is of no great concern because expectations are his replacement, E.J. Manuel, could be even better. The speed on defense is back. The secondary is loaded with future NFL players. The Noles are loaded at running back.

A national title in 2011? That’s a bit of a reach, but the start of another great FSU run is not. FSU fans can feel it. They’re united again.
